Terms of Service

By creating an account or using MyChelavu at www.mychelavu.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and MyChelavu ("we", "our", "us").

MyChelavu is an automated personal finance tool that reads bank transaction alert emails from your connected Gmail account, extracts transaction data, categorises expenses, and provides AI-powered spending insights and reports. The Service is designed for personal, non-commercial use by individuals in India.

• You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.
• You must provide a valid email address and complete OTP verification.
• You must have the legal authority to grant Gmail access to MyChelavu.
• Corporate or bulk use requires prior written approval from us.

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account.
• You must notify us immediately at support@mychelavu.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
• We are not liable for losses arising from unauthorised use of your account.

• When you connect Gmail, you grant MyChelavu read-only access to emails from recognised Indian bank senders only.
• We do not read, store, or process any other emails in your inbox.
• You can revoke Gmail access at any time via Google Account permissions or from Settings → Disconnect Gmail.
• Revoking Gmail access will stop future syncs but will not delete already-parsed transactions.

MyChelavu offers a free tier and a paid Pro plan. Pricing is displayed at the time of purchase and on the pricing section of our homepage. By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorise us to charge the stated amount to your chosen payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• Refunds are provided for billing errors or if the Service was inaccessible for more than 72 consecutive hours in a billing period.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy any part of the Service.
• Upload or transmit malicious code or interfere with the Service's infrastructure.
• Share your account credentials with others.
• Use the Service to process transactions belonging to another person without their consent.

MyChelavu uses Google Gemini to generate spending insights, categorisations, and financial reports. These outputs are informational only and do not constitute financial advice, tax advice, or investment recommendations. Always consult a qualified financial advisor for major financial decisions. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We process your data in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDPA).

All content, branding, software, and designs within MyChelavu are owned by us or our licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal purposes only. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our written consent.

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:

• Perform scheduled maintenance (with advance notice where possible).
• Modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature with reasonable notice.
• Update these Terms at any time; continued use after 14 days constitutes acceptance.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MyChelavu and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

• Financial decisions made based on AI-generated insights.
• Data loss due to third-party service outages (Supabase, Render, Google).
• Missed transactions due to unsupported email formats.

Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or ₹1,000, whichever is greater.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MyChelavu and its team from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account, which triggers permanent deletion of all your data within 30 days.
